Founded in 1987, the Leo Club of Mahanama College is one of Sri Lanka’s most prestigious and time-honored school-based Leo Clubs, operating proudly under Leo District 306 D7. With nearly four decades of continuous service and a legacy shaped by 40 visionary presidents, our club has become a beacon of youth leadership, purpose-driven action, and community impact.

In the Leoistic Year 2024/2025, the club was recognized as the Most Outstanding School-Based Leo Club in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, while also securing the title of Most Outstanding Leo Club in Leo District 306 C2 further affirming our reputation for excellence.

Over the years, our journey has not only earned us 1000+ project awards, but has also seen our members rise to the highest ranks in Leoism and Lionism  producing District Presidents, Multiple District Presidents, and even Lions District Governors. Several of our Leos have gone on to proudly represent Sri Lanka at Lions International, carrying the Mahanama spirit to the global stage.

Today, the Leo Club of Mahanama College remains one of the most vibrant and active student organizations within the school a place where young leaders are nurtured, friendships are forged, and service becomes a way of life.

Our mission is to develop confident, compassionate young leaders through meaningful service. We strive to create a culture of teamwork, responsibility, and empathy driven by our theme, “Service Beyond Self.” By upholding the values of the Leo Club Program and proudly representing Mahanama College, we aim to make a lasting difference in both our school and the wider sri lankan community.
